Some difference between Copper, Bronze and Brass

Metal material -- Copper

Features of copper and copper alloys:

1.Good physical and chemical properties, excellent thermal conductivity, good electrical conductivity, no magnetism, no spark when collision, strong corrosion resistance

2.Good processing performance.

Pure copper, also known as red copper, has good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and welding performance, low strength, excellent plasticity, widely used in electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance devices. There are four kinds of industrial pure bronze number: T1, T2, T3 and T4. The larger the number, the lower the purity.Pure copper is mainly used for structural parts with both electrical and thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance requirements, such as electrical appliances and motors.

Copper alloys can be divided into brass, bronze and white copper by adding alloying elements.

Pure copper (copper)

It has good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and welding performance, low strength, excellent plasticity, widely used in electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance devices

Brass (mainly with zinc)

Bronze can be divided into tin bronze and tin-free bronze.

1.1 Tin bronze (mainly tin added)

It is mainly used for wear-resisting and corrosive parts, bushings, gears and turbines of instruments

1.2 Tin-free bronze

Tin-free bronze, commonly used are aluminum bronze, beryllium bronze, lead bronze, manganese bronze, silicon bronze

1.Aluminum bronze: one of the most widely used, better strength and wear resistance than brass and tin bronze, often used in gear, friction plate, and other parts that require high strength and high wear resistance.

2.Beryllium bronze: elastic limit, fatigue limit and thermal conductivity is very high, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, cold resistance is very good, no magnetism, but the price is expensive, such as used in the mold of the hot spray core.

The white copper ( mainly nickel added)

Silver white color, high corrosion resistance and corrosion resistance and good hot and cold processing performance, low price, used in the manufacture of precision machinery, instrument parts, medical equipment.
