Rootes 1725 engine numbers. Aug 31, 2011 · The engine was rebuilt and is supposedly a 1725 (not running), now the delema the engine number stamped on the block is not the same as the vin# of the car. The chassis number quoted for this vehicle indicates that it is a Series 1 Alpine. If it's an Arrows Series Rapier engine then you will need to swap a few things over from the Commer engine but it's all bolt on stuff.
