Acting as a hobby reddit. I have a degree in a form of applied chemistry and currently work in a lab while taking evening theatre gigs. Any advice? Do you think acting can be pursued simply as a hobby? You can take evening classes, go to short film or student film weekend auditions and perform as well as rehearse at night in small non-union theaters. It’s a career when it’s number one on your list and everything else is a distant number two: money, friends, housing, everything.
